Before I switched over to bottom feeding. I only top watered I believe 2-3 times with one of them being a microbe bacteria/fungi/humic&fulvic drench. Just to give it some time to break down for when they’ll need it for the final weeks of flowering. When the first young seedlings poke their heads out of the soil, they should be watered sparingly but frequently at the base. The reason why I’m asking this specifically is because I top dressed a mineral mix, a little bit of bat guano(nitrogen), bone meal(phosphorus) and langbeinite(potassium) Being slow release fertilizers besides the bat guano at the beginning of the 12/12 cycle. My question is if I top dress will the plant be able to still utilize the nutrients if I just bottom feed? Hortasorb helps keep the plant watered longer, and you can add it when. Get rid of the seedling tray after 15 to 20 minutes. Add soil amendments (see below) and mix with the soil in the bottom of the hole. With this technique, you’ll be able to provide your seedlings with the right amount of water, without the risk of overwatering or disturbing their delicate roots. 1 inch of water should be put in the container. You’ll learn why bottom watering is beneficial for your plants, what materials you need, and how to set up a bottom watering system in just a few easy steps. Set your seedling tray on the open, flat surface of the container for bottom irrigation. If you are top watering you can add some extra organic amendments, but we caution to not use highly available (soluble) liquid nutrients in large volumes this. Seemed to actually absorb much much more water then if I were to water it from the top due to the water just pooling and pouring off the side or the dry spot that is hydrophobic. A flat, open tray that is bigger than the seedling tray should be obtained. I found it easy to just fill up the tray with water and let it absorb what it can before removing it. Hey all! I got a tray filled up with foliage and it’s getting harder as they grow to water from the top. Bottom-watering is your new best friend To prevent algae from developing on the surface of soil blocks and any seedlings, let the top millimeter of your blocks dry before watering again.
